End Point Assessment

An end point assessment is mandatory for when an employer feels like their apprentice is ready to complete their standards within the apprenticeship framework. This process is known as gateway - the transition between the learners training and end point assessment. This is completely separate to any other assessment or training the apprentice has undertaken with their training provider. Training providers cannot deliver both the relevant training through a learner’s apprenticeship and the learner’s end point assessment, due to conflict of interest. Awarding organisations are chosen by an employer/training provider to cover the end point assessment process of the learner's journey.

This is why PurpleTurtle was created. It provides an awarding organisation with a tailored made platform to be able to deliver multiple end point assessments. An EPA can include a number of elements. These range from live assessments and assignments to exams and observations. PurpleTurtle can cover all these aspects by the creation of 'EPA Pathways'. Awarding Organisations have the ability to create tailor made end point assessments, which can be assigned to any learner within any training provider. The ‘pathways’ have all the relevant nine areas which an EPA can consist of, with the ability to give each part a weighing.
